My floral bouquets are a compendium of emotions and the admiration I feel towards Mother Nature. For many years, I used acrylic techniques as the basic medium for my artwork. It was not until about five years ago that my interest turned to exploring the use of collage as part of mixed media. I became curious about the possibilities offered by this technique to express myself in a way that would enrich my work overall, and provide a means for me to introduce recycled materials to support my artistic expression. I realized that recycling materials, such as my excess paintings, giftwrapping paper, wall covering paper, cardboard, plastic etc., could further ennoble my intention as creator. Collage has enabled me to continue to create in subsequent years with a fresh perspective. I combine disposable elements with some of my sketches on mixed media paper (painted or drawn with ink, pencil, etc.); which had been stored away, as if hidden in eternal disregard. My intent is to breathe new life into these segmented memories, by integrating them into a new-fashioned dimension.
